This piece of folk art was found in a box with jewelry (gold ,silver, and costume) , out front of a house, at the curb! It amazes me what people throw out.
Seems to be solid wood and hand carved with layers of paint on it. On the backside is where
I could tell it was wood and not plaster. Seems to have had a hat or something that was attached to the top as there's a hole. I could almost imagine the carved intended it to be a totem pole of some kind.
Anyways ,this is my favorite item that I've scored so far. I'll show more pics at a later date as It's hung 18' high on my wall and is unreachable.
Edited : I found out the hole on top is where they ran the wire through to hang it. Now I regret adding 2 small screws to the back to hang it
