    Hello All!
This is a recent acquisition, a great old photo, 1890's or so?
There's "NM" on the side of one of the cars, I'm guessing New Mexico?
    Full crew, mostly Mexican.
I was hoping that someone knowledgeable about trains might be able to identify the train and location.
Thank You in advance for any looks, likes, loves, or information.

Hope that the New Year is being good to you all,
    Tony

A jpg of the entire photo and mount (front and back) would be helpful in determining the era of the image.

Looks to be 1880s based on that locomotive. Those big smokestacks are disappearing around 1890, replaced by a straight stove pipe smokestack. Earlier locomotives tend not to have that wheel arrangement. The older ones have four drive wheels and 4 leading wheels, in general.

There was a U.S.~New Mexico territory before New Mexico was admitted into the union as the 47th state, on January 6, 1912,......
If the photo dates from the 1880's, could the " NM " on the side of the car still stand for New Mexico?
