Great aunt's table

I was given this dining table when my great aunt passed away. I am told it was from New York and is valuable but no one can tell me exactly what it is. She even had a protective top custom cut to fit to protect it. There is no markings or dates. It is solid wood, seats 6 comfortably with 2 inserts to seat up to 10. There is no screws visible where the legs join the top. Any knowledge on what it might be and/or worth is appreciated. Thanks!
