Is handmade. I obtained it 30 or 35 years ago and it was old then. Had knife enthusiasts look at it in the past at gun and knife shows, etc but they do not always agree so is hard to button it down. I’ve been told likely Civil War/WW1/WW2... that’s quite a large difference. Any thoughts?
I don't blame you for questioning the experts and all the wars listed. The wooden handle looks to be held with opposite side tension adjusters with flat head screws rather than rivets.
Style is similar to a Civil War d- guard, but the construction and scabbard look to be mid 20th century.

Probably home made or something other than mass production. That will make it hard to nail down if not impossible.
