Hey everyone! I have been searching for an old dining room set. Which I have all mis matched peices right now. So found this set. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. And possibly sell the table i already have. They said it's from the 1900s? That the label says made in buffalo New York. I'll get better pictures when I pick it up. And looks like I will have to redo the table top. Any thoughts are welcome! Thanks for looking!
Beautiful real wood pieces, I esp love the display cabinet w. glass door. For small marks & chips I use a brown magic marker (this is totally non-pro advice mind you, listen to others "in the know" first please) and for the table tops maybe bring to a furniture restorer unless you're handy with staining & varnishing - good luck!
Style is from the 2nd quarter, 20th century. These seem to have a good following now!

Thanks so much Scott! Thanks to you as well Newfld! Definitely no markers for me ha ha. I do like staining. I've brought back a few nice old pieces from being abused. I'd rather leave things how they are. Unless absolutely necessary. My biggest peeve is people painting over wood antiques.
Timeline is late 30's and into the 40's this style was prevailant, great set. Better than marker is scratchncover which you can find at any walmart or hardware.
Thanks so much Phil! Hoping to pick it up tomorrow if not to much snow here.
I actually seen a set here go for about $150. But it went right away. This set I'm paying $400. Which is fine with me. I'm just happy they all match! 3 different times I went to go pick up a set. And someone bought the sideboard out of it. Then I didn't want it because it wasn't a set. Everyone wants a sideboard to make a bathroom vanity out of. Or use as a tv console around here.
If it was all nice and polished it would be a knockout, grand slam !
Thanks Phil!
