This old gold-painted cast iron floor lamp ("bridge lamp"?) was always in Mom and Dad's house somewhere the whole time I was growing up -- I don't have the slightest idea where they got it or when, just that it was "before me". <lol> It always had some variety of typical wire-framed 'drum shaped' shade on it (I still have the last example) attached to the (non-original) light socket itself. I also don't know if its current paint is original, though I have no memory of it ever looking any different. When I brought it home myself several years ago (when Mom decided she didn't need it anymore) I once more rewired it and replaced its socket with the current (contemporary) brown plastic/bakelite one, which would hold the (also contemporary) red glass shade. [which came from a thrift store, as did the burgundy colored tassel I added to the pullchain switch]

It stands about 5-1/2' tall. Until now I'd never looked under its base to see if there were any maker's marks --seems like it has "B52 WELLINGTON STONE [?] PAT APPLIED FOR" cast into it. I don't know anything about what that might mean either. I've always imagined this lamp dates from the 1930's/40's...does anybody have any other clues about it to share???
