I am curious about whether this basket is old or rare or simply made to look that way. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

This is a Hausa Basket, made in Africa.

      You are welcome:)

You can find more on Ebay, some of them are in the Native American category. Some because these baskets sort of resemble some of the West Coast's tribal basketry. Your basket has nice color on it still, but I can't say as to when it was made.
