I bought this beautifully made, functionally perfect and structurally superb ladderback rocking chair about 40 years ago from an antiques store in Sea Cliff NY and I would like to know if anyone can tell me about it's possible origin or style and what it might be worth. There are no screws, nails or hardware and no glue used in it's construction, which is strictly post and hole, It looks like it's made of cherry, but had been coated with some reddish varnish at some point so I can't be sure of what kind of wood it is made of.
Thanks!
