A nicely bulbous shaped vase labeled Kamei but possibly made by Hokuyo Glass.
Pale blue glass has been spattered with a darker blue, white glass has been spattered in a basic line, and orange has been randomly added. The glass has been lightly pulled so there are some vertical lines in the dark blue and the white and orange rise and dip.
It has been thinly cased in clear and as is usual for Japanese glass the rim has been fire finished.
I think this would date to around the 1980s, but like a lot of glass I buy from Japan it shows no sign of wear and could be new.
I particularly like the blue shades in this vase and the orange is a great contrast.
Height and diameter both around 20cm.
Beautiful vase Karen, so many color variations in a gorgeous pattern
