    A friend gave me this told me it was from her great grandmother and she purchased it in Japan I know nothing about it?? Any thoughts?

      Looks very nice. If you can please take a few pictures closer and of the bottom. Put photo in a photo editing app. Then make the post from documents instead of camera. This should help identify . Going from some cameras puts the pictures in rotated wrong. Welcome to CW hope you get what you are looking for.
