    Can't seem to find any images or information on my lamp which has no markings except on the burner...PA duplex. The lamp, alone, is 21" tall and 24" wide. The vintage shades are not original. Reference books aren't that available. Will this remain a MYSTERY??

      What did you want to know? Circa 1880 -1900. Try googleing " Antique Duplex Student Lamp" Lot of images, info, etc.

      Thank you for responding. Not being familiar with these things and not having much to go on, I wanted to try to find out the manufacturer and the era my lamp was made. So thanks again for giving me a time period and I have checked out Duplex not knowing if this was the lamp manufacturer or the manufacturer of the just the burner. Have seen many simular lamps by Bradley and Hubbard, Plume and Atwood, ect. Still puzzled.....

      PA = Plume & Atwood.

      I would say it is probably a Plume and Atwood student lamp, from the marking on the burner ( P & A}. As far as the duplex on the burner, that is just a generic term that describes the double wick burner. you will find duplex burners marked with Made in England , Germany, US and also Companies names or initials. I have a Bradley and Hubbard , marked B&H Duplex."Student Lamp" is much the same, a generic term, that descirbes the style of lamp made by many manufacturers. Hope this helps.
