This Victorian vase is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over shaded pale blue with a diamond air trap pattern. It measures 24 cm tall, 8.5 cm across the crimped, fan - shaped top rim, & 7 cm across the base, which has a rough, snapped pontil mark.
The vase features applied decoration of branches, leaves, & flowers in clear glass. Two handles are formed by the stylised branches, & the top rim also has an applied clear crest. The entire piece has a smooth, satin finish.
I am thinking it is most likely Bohemian...
Not many examples of air trap satin glass also have applied decoration, so this was a truly fabulous find from an antiques fair I attended on the weekend!
Very lovely vase indeed and beautiful frosted colours...:-)
Many thanks, inky!
Absolutely Gorgeous!
Thank you most kindly, sklo42! I was indeed knocked out when I spotted it...& there was another nice find from the same stall which I shall post in a few days...a Welz thorn vase! And I literally had to restrain myself from buying a pair of vases with applied flowers...maybe they'll be there waiting for me next month if they are really meant to be mine... :-)
LOVE IT!

Many thanks, nutsabotas6!
Thanks also Scott, thought you might like it as a fellow admirer of applied flowers!
