It's always a good day glass hunting when you find something you collect that you haven't seen before. This is another variation on the series of pieces made for Max Emmanuel in London utilizing a crystal ground that is "schief gewaltzt", or "rolled aslant". The diagonal optic ribs coupled with the crystal "tropfen" or drips all serve the purpose of sending light scattering in all directions. This variation has no applied rim, uses the "green spreading" ground, and crystal, rather than green, drips. It does have a ground and polished pontil, like all the others. Photo #3 shows this piece contrasting with one of the more traditional pieces with solid crystal ground and green tropfen. The last photo shows the shape and size (about 4" tall), but this decor is not mentioned.
Another unusual; beauty!! keep'em coming :)
I will sure try, Marty :)
Now THAT is cool!
