      It appears to be from the 1970's. I see a lot of these now coming up.

      Thanks for the info Phil, I have never seen any of this type of heavy opalescent lampshade. where have you seen them appearing?

      Just saw your post- I have a lamp almost identical. I bought mine from eBay last year.
      The seller listed it as 1940s Hollywood Regency style.
      Mine is clear glass but very thick glass, deeply beveled design all over the cylinder shape. Has heavy metal decorative cap.
      It was a plug-in swag lamp but I converted it to hard-wired and took all the chain off so it fits closer to the ceiling.
