Pretty sure this one is a hat pin! :) The gold piece on the end feels like some type of metal. Not sure how old it is.

That's a great shape! Looks like gilded pot metal, and it looks pre war to me.
I have to clue when it comes to hat pins! Do you mean pre war one or two? I get people that refer to both of them that way.
Great hat pin!! I have a few that came with some of the antique lady's hat trunks that I have in my collection. This one is outstanding!!
