A long past partner (who was a wannabe professional chef) impressed upon me the importance/need for a proper spatula(s) to be amongst any cook's arsenal of key utensils/tools. Not then or now claiming in any way whatsoever to be a "chef" myself, I'm still not sure about all that (though it makes sense, I guess?) but no matter, I still *do* enjoy using both of these spatulas from time to time as I try to cook myself enough food to stay alive. They were both found in thrift stores since that partner, in more recent years... ;-) :-)
Their handles are both stamped with (slightly different versions of) the RUSSELL name/logo, and item numbers L8386C and 85859. The Internets show that these are still current catalog numbers from the now DEXTER-RUSSELL Co., being a "8 x 3 long handled turner" and "5 x 4 hamburger turner" respectively. Both of them show obvious evidence of their past lives somewhere else, though I have no idea where that might have been nor exactly how long ago...I doubt if either is actually too terribly old no matter how 'previously used' they might be.
Practically speaking, the 'hamburger turner' is indeed perfect for that task (on my little grill anyways?) and the 'long handle turner' is really handy to help retrieve a freshly baked frozen pizza from the hot oven rack...as matter of fact I just used that one for that purpose, shortly before these pics were taken... <burp> <lol>
