Hello again everyone!!!
My wife and I took a short trip to the wonderful city of Asheville, NC last October. We visited the Antique Tobacco Barn, upon the recommendation of local folks there. It's an old tobacco warehouse that's been converted. It took us more than 2 hours to get thru the 77,000 square feet of this amazing place, and I'm sure we missed a tremendous number of items there. But, we plan to take another trip there sometime this year.
Anyhow, I stumbled across this big handsome fellow. It's a cast iron hare doorstop, or lawn ornament to some. He's fairly heavy at 10 lbs 6 oz. He stands at more than 12" tall and 11" long. I already have several of these, but I couldn't leave without taking this guy back to Kentucky with me to join all of my many other rabbits and hares. Of course, this one is clearly a reproduction, but A.C. Williams originally released this as a still bank, in the early 1900's, and the original still bank was about 1/2 the size of this fellow. Hope you enjoy him as much as I do.
Thank you all so very much for dropping by!!

I love him! I hope you didn't stumble too badly as I imagine it would hurt to stub one's toes on him. ;) He looks like he belongs in an allegorical tale: The Tale of the Golden Hare. Or The Tail of the Golden Hare.
Thank you Laura!! I love your story titles and, yes, he would fit right into a an allegorical tale, or tail if you will:) I really love the incredible detail of this handsome hare. I'm glad that you can appreciate this fellow as much as I do!!!
Maybe he's chocolate inside? ;)
Nope Laura,
I've already checked and trust me when I say he's not:)
A golden beauty, great to have this for a doorstop
Thanks Jenni!! I'm not using him as a doorstop though. He has a spot in our great room for display only.
Thanks very much Ken!! He's actually not that shiny in person. My camera just seems to make him appear to be very shiny. Thanks for the double love!!!
Thanks everyone so very much for the loves and comments,
