Although the mouth does not snap all the bees back to the bungalow. Anyway you asked for it you got it thus Taxidermy Tuesday.
Picked this up at the Long Beach Antique Flea Market last month. It is an attractive piece as it is mounted on a piece of driftwood. Doesn't cover up my log wall as the usual wooden plaque would and the fish is in a pose that suggests animation ie lifelike.
It measures 13" long without taking the curved pose into account.
Pretty sure this is a rainbow trout. Yes it is. Does not seem to be a large one but someone was very proud of it. Either that or it was made for cabin décor which it now is.
I had no idea a fish can be taxidermied...learned something new!
Yep I agree a rainbow. Can't wait till April when fishing starts again :)
Nice rainbow trout!! Looks great on your wall.
Thank you very much nutsabotas6. It is home now.
Thank you very much AnnaB. It's a lot cheaper to buy a used one than to have your own preserved.
Thank you very much Caperkid. Hope you catch your limit.
