    Wendell pocket watch. Power ticker!!!
I’ve been trying to research history this amazing watch. Haven’t found anything about Wendell. Everything I can tell the Watch was made by the Illinois Watch Co. although no IWC marking. Wendell wasn’t one of the original founders and never mentioned in anything I have found. Some data bases say it was made in 1878 and others say 1882. Movement is identical to othe IWC movements of the same time period and dials are interchangeable. Wish I could learn more about this movement.

A lot of jewelers bought the movements separate from other parts. I'd try the jeweler side of research.

Known as a "private label" watch. An individual or jeweler could have their name engraved on the movement. Some also had them on the dial.

On the NAWCC message board one like yours is shown and described as:
176229 - 'Wendell', model 1, Columbia grade, 11J, SS dial
      https://mb.nawcc.org/threads/illinois-private-labels.3302/page-21#post-1144758
By the way, yours is missing a case screw that secures the movement in the case.
