Hi everyone!!
Well, you've seen my Peter Rabbit doorstop and still bank, here's my Peter Rabbit doorknocker. There are a tremendous amount of crudely cast reproductions of this doorknocker, but this one is nice smooth casting. So, I have no reason to believe that this one is not an original. This is a rather small doorknocker and measures only 3 3/4" tall and 2 1/8" at it's widest point. I have no idea as to when these Peter Cottontail doorknockers were first made, but I'm willing to believe it was sometime in the 1930's or 1940's. Harrison Cady didn't create the Peter Cottontail series until 1920.

Thank you Laura!! He's out on display at the moment, but lives in the back of a display cabinet most of the year. Unfortunately, he won't make it to the front of our door.
