While serving in the Philippines in 1944-45, my father-in-law saved dozens of these leaflets, and he writes “These are copies of propaganda leaflets printed and distributed by American forces on returning to the Philippines in 1944-45. Some were dropped by plane, some were fired by canister by artillery guns, and some were posted on trees in the jungles by American patrols.” I’ve included samples of two of the leaflets. The coding (No. 28-J-1) at the top of the second leaflet means: 28 (leaflet no.); J (aimed at the Japanese) and 1 (distributed by first Army.)

      Dave,
All of these WW II materials were sent to Ft. Bragg to the US Army Special Operations historian where they are being scanned and documented. If you're interested, you can see many of these materials in an article posted at this link: http://www.psywarrior.com/WWIIPhilippinesEditor.html Thanks for your interest.
