    Not sure of age or maker or material. any info greatly appreciated. 6 inches high. Tan and brown and bit of yellow.

      I think it says Talavera, which is a town in Portugal, I think!

      I could not find anything that looks like this..it is not shiny, (plain clay color) and it is hand painted. All the TALAVERA were shiny for the most part. None marked like this...and most say Mexico.

      Talavera is pottery made in Mexico (guess that the M is for). I don't know if your vase is an authentic piece - your right about most of it being shiny.
