I picked this up a few weeks ago and wanted to share it. A really beautiful piece in my opinion. I love the contrasting light and dark greens and of course the sculpture. I don't know who she is or where she is from but still very nice. A small chip on the front which probably could be repaired. There appears to be a light signature on the base in pencil but I cannot make it out.

    Hope you enjoy the piece!

Unusual to say the least. I can see why you bought it. It would be interesting to know the history of it.

BHock45 Just input to consider. In doing different search strings regarding this I keep getting back images of monks and nuns with their head scarf or hood covering everything but their faces. Might have some religious connection.

fhr thanks for doing some research to help! I was also thinking some type of religious depiction, but I can't be sure. That clip on the side of the head holding the hood might be a good clue.
      Thanks again.
