    (813 items)

These are some of the items I found in the Bibles I just posted.
The funeral-themed pieces I mounted (using small amounts of a fairly removable archival tape), so they could be maintained (a sticker I put on the back says Smith Family Bible) as I do with the Bibles I've found things in (to keep the family of items together, even if the family got rid of them).
But, the Red Cross Health Bulletin, on the Influenza (which, it says, last year killed half a million Americans, suggesting it to be from 1919-1920 period), was quite ironic, as I was 4 days out of work a couple weeks ago due to a hard case of "Flu, Type A", and am still somewhat recovering from an additional ailment that overcame me in my weakened state. So, how ironic it is to receive this health bulletin on the Influenza, 99 years too late! It will pair well with an undated sermon I have, where the pastor (who drags on forever) does mention the deadly Influenza (perhaps an earlier occurrence, judging by the paper's type).
The leaf-shaped piece with a dead flower (which I reattached to it) was a birthday invitation. What I think is a date, is for 1921.

SpiritBear, In your first photo "American Red Cross", Item #4 states you should wear a mask when caring for influenza patients. I knew I had a photo of my great-aunt wearing a mask during this time. She was a nurse caring for family and others.
On the back of the photo is written, her name and 1918 flu epidemic. I will post it for you to see.

Thank you. It is an interesting image. I'm very curious about her attire.
I did get a few masks from the hospital, but they weren't the washable types.
