I found this piece rather interesting.

I believe that it was a pharmacist's sign for obvious reasons. It is constructed entirely from sheet and wrought iron. I really liked the wonderfully rendered rather delicate and lively scroll work. It has traces of blue paint except for the mortar and pestle and the "Rx's" which retain their original gold paint. I would consider it, then, an architectural item as well.

It is quite large being 144 inches in length.

I believe that it dates from the early 20th century.

A fantastic find and yes, such delicate ironwork. I can imagine it on a Victorian era shop, with it's stained glass window surrounds and beautiful wooden doors.
