As a collector, some things do not have to be expensive or very valuable to get on's juices flowing. This is one of those pieces. Haight Ashbury Song Book by Ashleigh Brilliant. Dated 1967 and as purchased at the time in the Park in the Haight Ashbury District in San Francisco with the glorious Provenance! Pretty cool songs titled The Intercourse Song, Hateful Powers, Hippie Get Stoned, Marry-Wanna, It's A Nark, Hippie Hill, San Francisco-Full of Marihuana, The Girl I Left In Berkeley, The Hitching Hippie, Take Acid and You'll See, Hey-Run Me Over, I love Haight Street, The Singing Hippie, My Grandfather's Pot, Took a Little Trip, My Teeny Bopper With The Light Blue Jeans and Haight-Ashbury Farewell. The owner himself was playing the guitar back then and picked this in Haight Ashbury. Amazing to have survived - especially being used. Wonderful artifact of the Hippie Era in the Haight.
This is really a blast, those were wild times, and you're always learning something here - I thought the "stomach bump" was invented by those lip synching singers Milli Vanilli lol
Never knew Milli Vanilli were hippies! Ha ha.
Awesome, I have spent a lot of time wandering around those streets myself, long ago.
Interesting! Do you think an actual hippie wrote these song parodies, or do you think they were written to mock hippies?
