Esquire, "A Gentleman's Set Up"
Bottled by the Greater St. Louis Soda Co.
Pic # 1 Shows a pair of 7 oz. bottles dated 1939 & 1940. Looks to be two different shades of dark red on the label.
Pic # 2 Shows a 7 oz. Shamrock bottle also dated 1939. Bottled by the Greater St. Louis Soda Co.
Pic # 3 Shows the same bottle as in pic #2 but along side another 7 oz. Shamrock dated 1942, but bottled by Shamrock Bottling Co. of St. Louis, Missouri.
I could never find a directory listing for this company, but did find a "registration of fictitious name" through the state Missouri business archives. It stated that in 1937 a Marie Gualdoni and a Mario Colombo each with 1/2 interest were doing business at 2642 Arthur in Maplewood, Missouri. Maplewood being just outside the city limits. This bottling operation was short lived as in 1941 a Henry Gualdoni joined Marie & Mario (each with 1/3 interest) in starting the Shamrock Bottling Co. & The Dr. Cherry Co. All located at 5060 Arsenal in St. Louis, Missouri. The bottling operation lasted only to 1946.
