I found these at a local estate sale along with a few other old victorian pieces of bone or ivory sewing instruments. I think they are old sperm whale teeth but i could be wrong. Could be from another type of whale? They measure about 4 1/2" - 5" inches long and have a good feel to them. It is amazing what people get rid of at these sales. It is such a thrill when you stumble upon unique finds like these.

I know i dont know if they are from the same era as the other bone/ivory pieces that i posted but they came from the same estate sale. It would be cool to have them carved or made into knife handles if they are indeed genuine old ivory and not plastic.
These look exactly like whale teeth to me. I have a few from the 70s that have been authenticated. Cannot recall whale species, will look it up. If you are worried that these are plastic, do the hot pin test. Ivory will smell like burnt hair, plastic like plastic. But they look right to me. Good luck!

These are whale teeth. There used to be bushel baskets of these in gift shops in Daytona Beach Florida for $.25 each in the mid 1960s. I still have one of these that I bought there.
