MCM Vase - unsigned

i found this vase last evening at my local Goodwill. nicely textured and no chips anywhere. there is a little bit of staining about 1/2 inch long near the lip and a tiny hairline about 2 inches long inside. but it rings true! any idea who/where it was made? i think it's earthenware and maybe american. California? 7.5 inches tall.
