I got this vintage Stroh’s clock @ a sale for minimal cost. It’s a little beat up, but still is a nice piece. In time, it’s still functioning electric motor will burn out, and as of now, this clock still keeps good time. Replacing the electric motor is cost prohibitive, so a quartz movement is on reserve.
The minute hand on the first image is blurred because of an extended exposure time, and the second image shows the clock with its fluorescent lamp illuminating a darkened room.
This is an old clock, as its graphics indicate “1987 Stroh’s Brewing Company Detroit, MI”
Thank you fortapache, EJW-54 and Thomas, I appreciate your love of this clock.
Love it! My dad worked at Strohs for about 37 yrs until they closed.
Thanks, Iggy! Your dd must have a lot of cool stories to relate about his days at Stroh's!
Ted, yes he did. He is passed away now but lot's of good memories. Too bad I didn't collect any Strohs memorabilia from back then. He worked the midnite shift as a hilo driver. Strangely workers were allowed to drink on the premises but could not take it home.
Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, iggy. Hey, the hi-lo drivers that I know, are all colorful people! Yes, the insurance companies put the brakes to brewery workers drinking at work. I worked at The Lion Brewery, we weren't allowed to drink there, but we could take a case home occasionally.
Hi, Sean, thanks for the love!!
Greetings, buss...thanks for the love!
Hi, burtmacklin...thanks for the love!
I always looked for Stroh's when in the States as one of the few beers there that seemed to have a little flavour.
