Not sure when this is from but I would guess it's atleast pre 1900s judging from build. Trestle feet are peg n hole assembled all screws are flat heads and glue has more of an older resin look to it, and it has a gear driven set up for leaf. No veneer overlay. All real hard wood. I absolutely love this table! It was in pretty bad shape when I picked it up. I repaired some structural cracks in table that could be problems in the future but left other less problematic flaws so it could still tell it's story. Removed water damage, repaired latch mechanism for leaf release, sanded down , stained ebony, and finished with a clear oil based polyurethane.

Do you know what kind of wood the table is made from, Antibro? (walnut, maybe?) Looks very nice now (again) no matter what?! :-) :-) :-)

Thank you. Such a cool design, I typically sell this stuff when I'm done but I must say I'm a little partial to this one. Honestly don't know if it was from the sheere age of it or the wood or the combination of the two, but it definitely seemed like a softer wood then Walnut to me. I'm pretty sure the age had something to do with it but sanding it, I'm pretty sure it was not like cherry, walnut or oak. Naked it was much lighter, and like I said, didn't seem as hard/solid as oak/walnut etc. But maybe something more like a fur or birch? Possibly?
