A recent op shop find, this Victorian lidded storage jar is made from a single layer of clear glass with a satin textured flashed pink finish. It measures 23 cm tall, 12 cm across the lid, & 10 cm across the base. The jar features decoration of lily - of - the - valley flowers in raised enamel, & is also accented with gilding.
    Most likely of Bohemian origin.

Nice, I would like it a lot more if it did not have that gig knob on top. I would love to visit you shops, jealous.

Many thanks, sklo42! Yes, I had to grab it immediately...especially since I have another example of the same design in a different shape - which I'm posting next.

Rockbat, I do not mind the size of the finial on this, maybe it looks a little oversized in the photo due to the angle? But in real life it sits well & is practical to hold onto as the lid is rather heavy.
Yes, I am fortunate to have several great shops to visit, & often reap the rewards of my persistance (some would say obsession).

How has it survived so well! I don't find beautiful things like that in my op shops :(

I know, it is in absolutely pristine condition...as for op shopping, I am so lucky to have some fantastic ones that I trawl on a regular basis. And if I don't find any glass, then there's always consolation to be found in books, clothes, & anything else that takes my fancy...
