Issued to the wife of an Italian secret police high ranking secret-agent, the OVRA: its equivalent in Nazi Germany was the Gestapo. Annunziata was the wife of Dott. Rosario Barranco who was the chief OVRA agent in occupied Nice, France, in the first years of the Italian occupation. In 1948 he was even demanded by the French to be handed over for war crimes. The rare passport includes Spanish & Portuguese diplomatic visas from Rome and the German transit travel permission from their embassy in Paris, once she arrived in occupied France it was applied for in July of 1943.
