Vintage "Houston Black Light" Poster dated 1971 showing as the seller/owner put it: "Vintage black light poster from 1971 depicting the age old confrontation between dissidents and the system!" Poster measures approximately 22'' x 33'' (56 x 84cm). One of the greatest aspects of this poster is in one corner you have hippies and in another you have militants - could be the SDS, Weathermen or the Black Panthers. Fascinating period political statement.
These pictures as they used to say are "mind-blowing" lol! I love this silhouette style photography, like the posters for Endless Summer. Cool motorcycle rider in the midst of military intimidation
Thanks Newfld - isn't the biker great! And yes, the graphic style works really well.
Howdy. I am currently working on an exhibition of the Houston Black Light and Poster Dist Co and artist George Goode who illustrated this poster. The will be on view at The Printing Museum in Houston, would you be interested in exhibiting this poster, with credit given to you and your collection? I hope this comment is not inappropriate for this site - I am not trying to purchase this print, simply curious if you might be interested in showing it in a gallery setting for 3-4 months.
