I love opals...
This Australian one does have crazing, lovely colors though, and above all a substantial size!
29.6 by 18.2mm, 9.2mm depth.
Some epoxy glue remains on back.
Backside shows brighter colors!
Guess what is its state now................... Ô_Ô
Beautifully colored opal Pascale, it is like looking at the moon's surface on a romantic night. Opal was my grandma's October birthstone & I always have fond memories of this multi color jewel. Fantastique!
I love opals, too. Where did you find this beauty? I must have been part of a monumental piece of jewelry! Some time ago I found some opals well, but the opal in the necklace has a very fine hairline crack. I bought it anyway because it is still beautiful. I am now motivated to post it soon:)
Aww, lovely poetic words Jenni! Thank you!
Freiheit, thanks! An Ebay buy, not really cheap but fine for me ;-))
I'd love to see your necklace!
Check how it looks now:

You're taste as always is flawless, gorgeous piece !~
Wow Pascale!! Beautiful opal, crazed or not!!
Thanks Betweenhelens for your luscious comment and love ;-)
Phil! Thanks for such a compliment! XO
Judy, many thanks my friend for your wow!!! love back to you :-D
Huge opalized thanks to all of you, 11 lovers!
I don't mind the crazing in opals. I know it is supposed to take away from
the value, etc. but it always seems to me like crazed opals have been around
for a long time and are still beautiful!! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Wpj for your visit and appreciation :-D
Opals are so fascinating, I don't mind the decreased value of crazed opals either, my kyratisation was only "cosmetic" on this one, and I'd love it as much if it hadn't work :-)
