This is a small vase, the palest of pale greens in colour and of thick matt glass. It's painted and enameled and glows under UV light. There's a frondy, fern like design on the top and a rough pontil scar to the base.
I have no idea of it's origins! My liking for painted/enameled scenery won the day......
Height 11 cm./4.25 inches
Beautiful. Such a sweet little pot. The painting on it looks very well done.
The painting/enameling is nicely done, but I was hoping someone might have an idea of its period......or anything else for that matter!
No clue, but beautiful.......if I were to guess......Thomas Webb, but I just do not know much about these Custard satin glass rose bowls.........
Is the art work signed at all some where small in the decoration ??
Thank you Rose, for your suggestions. It is satin glass, but not yellow.....does that mean it can't be custard glass? It's either cream or pale green according to the light. It does react to UV, but only weakly. I can't find any signature amongst the painted scenery.
