I just never know...after weeks of seeing JUNK, CRAP and GARBAGE at the flea markets, today did finally cough up some great stuff. I wasn't totally sure this frame was the real deal, but an antique dealer friend over in the UK assured me that it most definitely is genuine. I bought it because I liked it. I did know it was Guilloche when I bought it, but didn't have a time frame in mind. The design is raised. The brass is rather discolored. Do I clean it up or leave it alone? The glass is slightly convex and fits into an oval shaped brass frame within the main frame.

    Thanks for looking!
    Bonnie

Beautiful frame Bonnie!! Just a personal preference, but I'd leave the brass just as it is. It adds character to the frame.

Bonnie, it is a treasure! The enamel is a work of art, and still having the convex glass is a big plus!!!
I'd leave is as is, as Scott said it adds character, except straighten the bent corners of the backing ;-)
