This is an original two speed SUPER DE LUXE OSTERIZER blender in chrome finish, model #452, made by the John Oster Mfg. Co. of Milwaukee, WI. Seen here with its glass jar and base/blade assembly, I'm 99% sure I have its lid/cap around here someplace too, but could not locate them for the pics today. It was found at a thrift shop roughly 30yrs ago, and still operates perfectly.
I do not know exactly how old it is, but am guessing late 1950's - mid 1960's. Initial research (and common logic) suggests the SUPER DELUXE model was the next generation produced after the DELUXE model. Beyond any potential 'inner differences' with the motor/etc., its exterior only differs from my copper DELUXE model (ca. ~1955) by the style of its control knob and nameplate bezel (w/addition of the "SUPER DELUXE" name) and bottom cover plate with mfr's model information.
Its glass jar is the same size (4" across the top) and differs from the one that came with my DELUXE model in two ways -- it is *not* marked with the OSTER name, but it *does* have a handle. I believe the base/blade assemblies are identical, but for the exact size/font of the mfr's info on the base rings themselves.
EDIT: I have added an additional posting for all three of my OSTERIZERS, here:
