I purchased these from a picker friend this evening. He found them in the trash. I assumed they were 1970s repros, until I got home and looked at them with a loupe. They look much earlier and are very high quality faience. The backs are signed Sarreguemines with some letters printed over it. The plates also have some impressed marks and initials on the back. There are no holes for hanging them, and none of them have 'FRANCE' on them. Apparently these plates were made between the 1880s and 1920s.
The plates are all beautiful, I esp like this scene of the young mom rocking her baby while the cat sleeps, tired out from her own "babies"
thanks Newfld. i like this one too.
