This is an antique Victorian china cabinet left to me by my father. I am trying to find out information on it. I know that the double cruved glass (s shaped) makes this item more valuable, but I am trying to find out if it is mahogany or rosewood, and maybe about when it was built, by who and where. any information would be greatly appreciated !

Your pictures are taken from a distance under different lighting conditions. That makes it rather difficult to identify the wood. Although most times identifying it from a photo is iffy to say the least. I will base my opinion on photo #2 and only that one because it is well lighted. I would say the exterior framework/skeleton, is most likely rosewood. The grain is right and it shows darker veining that isn't normally found in mahogany. That being said, the shelves ... from what I can see are either treated with a finish or they are mahogany. You quite possibly have a marriage of the two woods here.

Looks around 1910 when a lot of these were made. It would be near impossible to find a maker as over the century there were thousands who left no information when their businesses closed. Maybe go to your library and see in their history room if they have furniture business ads in the area where this was found
