Locate the data plate, find the date of manufacture, and type of Refrigerant used, then report back for advice.

Added the plate. Hope that helps? Thanks for quick responses.

The fact that it is R-12 Refrigerant is a good thing, verses the lithum bromide solution. Now, the next big question is, does the Compressor run? If it does run, i suggest you find someone with an epa cert., that has a vacuum pump, and recovery unit check it for leaks, pull a vacuum, and charge it up with R-12. You can still find the small cans on ebay, which are 12oz, and or 14oz, but they are not cheap. Now all that probably went over your head, but it is the only way i can put it. There are companies that have retrofit kits with R-134A refrigerant, but they are not cheap, and you would still need to have it installed, and charged. It just all depends how deep your pockets are, and how much you want to shell out. Below are a few food for thought links that may interest you, and Good Luck to You.
