It's part of a draftsman tool. I wish I knew how to post a picture on here so I could show the rest of the tool.
It looks like one part of an antique Starret engineers trammel point. This one is rodded where most use flat stock to connect them.
Thanks guys. Any ideas on where I can look up more information on it?
I just noticed that in picture one the far right end of this is threaded. That should rule out it being a trammel. I will post a link below. The link shows some antique lab stands of different designs. As you will see they can have different attachments for different uses.
