Hello everyone!!
You saw my Juan Clara bronze sculpture of the Little Girl And Her Dog a couple of weeks ago. Here's my "A Girl" sculpture, also by Juan Clara (1875–1958). The original was sculpted between 1910 and 1920. The Juan Clara signature is on top of the stool. This one is a very high quality casting and has the foundry stamp on the back of the stool "LB 347". I'm not exactly sure about the date of this casting. According to a few of the experts, the little girl's name is supposedly "Suzette". Juan Clara sculptures were very popular thru the mid-1900's. The sculpture is solid bronze and quite heavy. It measures 13" tall.
Thank you all for taking time to stop by!!!!!

Very pretty little lady, her outfit reminds me of the original Morton salt girl - lovely bronze sculpture

Scott you have an exceptional collection of foundry pieces, I am constantly awed.
Karen, Thank you so VERY much for the wonderful compliment!!!
Really beautiful. So well made. What an interesting sculptor!
Thank you Laura!! For some reason or another, Juan Clara was primarily known for his many sculptures of children having trouble with chairs. I only own two of his sculptures, but they're all very well detailed sculptures.
