Another little 'nearly free' item scored from the rummage sale recently. Who knew that if you showed up during the final hour, a nice volunteer lady would hand you a basket and say "fill it up with anything left that fits, for $2"...??? A deal which I absolutely COULD NOT resist -- I actually ended up giving them $10 for the basketful by the time I gathered and paid, still a h*lluva deal for the assortment of soon-to-be 'leftover' crap I found still remaining on the already well picked over tables. [next yr, I've absolutely *gotta* get up earlier on the Sat morning this sale will happen again, if only to see what their "good stuff" is??!! <lol>]

There's nothing terribly special or unique about this little lamp, I only grabbed it because it reminds me of a similar one which was in my folks' house while I was growing up. Painted sheet metal construction with a gooseneck holding its conical 'shade' with tapered wood finial, its base is about 5" across and it sits roughly 12" - 16" high depending on how much it is bent over. A pushbutton on/off switch controls its 'medium base' size lightbulb socket. No mfr's marks or info on it.

Also don't have much of any idea what the frick *to do* with its bland oatmeal-beige colored self...mebbe I should take it all apart and repaint it bright red, just to give it some slight little bit of 'character' for the first time in its life...?? <LOL>

These old lamps never die. Great construction and electrics. I have one near my sewing desk.
It's sad what gets thrown out after garage sales, so well done!

      for your <loves>!

Racer, I totally agree -- a simple light, but well built with good quality parts. I'm still sorta torn whether to repaint it (red, yellow, or some bright primary color probably?) or just leave it as it is, kinda testament to its era...??
