This is the reveling of the springs medicinal properties by the Mohawks.
"It was during one of these attacks, in the summer of 1767, that the Mohawks determined, in solemn council, to reveal to their beloved brother, War-ra-ghi-ya-ghy, the peculiar medicinal properties of the "HIGH ROCK SPRING."

The above information was supplied by AR8Jason. I had the whole story wrong!

Jason, what can I say? Your knowledge of history is amazing. I am going to use your post for my information if you don't mind.

One question,am I correct in stating this is a souvenir piece from the 1900's ?

Yes, Mark, I call Jason the walking history book. Whatever the story, it's a cool
souvenir. I wonder if one can find this "HIGH ROCK SPRING" today? I'd like to get my hands on it.
