Value, anyone? Thanks! Appears to be either 40’s or 50’s. What should I use to clean? Suggestions appreciated.

Looks like a Temprite picnic cooler from the 50's, stripped of its red paint surface. Light wipe with a damp rag, maybe a mild abrasive car polish. Wouldn't worry about doing further damage.
