Here is a 2 1-4" silvertone brooch shaped like a toucan bird, sitting on a 1"W baguette branch with white rhinestone head & back feather accents, tiny chaton multi color stones, emerald eye, and oval pastel fruit salad rhinestone tummy. Ca. 1960s by Lisner (1904-1985)
He really is so very pretty Jenni! I must start paying more attention to costume pieces......I would love to have one of these!!:-)
Ditto for me. Time for some fruit loops mmmmmm.
Ha, Judy, same for me!
CW is terrible in giving us the will to start new collections... ;-)

Aw Eileen, thanks for the sweet words
Judy I'm really glad you enjoyed my toucan, he was so sparkly in any lighting it was hard to get photos without glare! I love fine jewelry but the prices today can be outlandish, for example Hawaiian figural pieces are crazy priced, there is a HI famous maker branch store in one of our local malls, I fell in love w/ a waterfall shaped pendant, but priced over 2K, that's like the cost of a partial trip to HI (still hoping we'll go this summer or Fall)
Roy, froot loops lol, my brothers loved that cereal & other sweet ones like lucky charms - I love sweets but not so much at bkfast. Thanx for the great comment
So happy you liked this Pascale, I agree, other people's collections can really be appealing - yours for example has such wonderful unique pieces, even your bugs are beautiful, now I have started to get some will post in future
This is so cute and unique!
Cute alert :-)
Scott, so glad you liked my toucan & many thanx for the kind words
Really happy you enjoyed him Mrstyndall, thanx so much for your kind compliments - he is pretty unique, I couldn't believe it was made by Lisner, just didn't seem like their traditional style
Thank you for the very kind words Ken, I too love those spring/summer colors & the bright green eye is a nice touch, but his silvery face is like a mirror, hard to take pix of
Mani that's so sweet, my little cutie bird thanks You!
With appreciation for the luv everybody

Beautiful and he's a smart one !~
Mary I love birds too, this toucan really appealed to me with the pastel colors, however in real life these birds kinda scare me with those long beaks - imagine if it bit you lol - thx for great comment
Phil he sure would look smart on a nice warm weather suit, thanks for the kind compliments
Many thanks for the luv everybody

What a precious toucan! Very spring-like, too.
Great compliments Laura, his colors do remind me of Spring & SO happy it's finally here, just put my potted mint plants outside (they're invasive so unless you want vines everywhere they stay in pots) - appreciate the luv too
Thanks very much for the love aura and Sean, greatly appreciated
The luv is greatly appreciated buckethead, thank you
Jenni, I hope you brought them in last night! It was 37 F here this morning and I imagine it's not much warmer by you. :(
Laura we're slightly warmer here on LI, and it's projected to stay that way all wk so my "minties" stay outdoors, they actually are pretty hardy & can live thru a couple frosts, it's the snow that kills them. I put three planter pots full of the sweet mint variety on either side of my entrance door Spring thru Fall, know why, vermin and bugs hate the smell, it really works (but the small flower stalks have to be trimmed in July & Aug or bees do come)
Many thanks for the luv Purvis, greatly appreciated
I am glad spring is finally on its way. I didn't know that bugs and vermin don't like the smell of mint. That's good to know. I love making simple mint syrup for iced tea! My husband has a whole batch of tomato plants he wants to set outside, but we'll have to wait a bit longer for warmer temps.
Yes Laura I would wait longer for your tomato plants, I really believe in this climate change stuff, today it's raining like a hurricane & was worried for hubby setting out for work this a.m. Your mint syrup sounds great - the sweet mint I plant has large leaves with a mild aroma, great thing about them is clipping or trimming doesn't weaken them, & I can use them in cooking recipes (love 'em on lamb chops) or the occasional mojito
I hope your husband made it to work safely. We got snow last night! It was just a dusting, but nonetheless, it was snow! We're expecting lots of rain today. The upside is perhaps it will allow things to grow. Mojitos. Now you're talking!
Thanks so much Laura, he knew I was worried so he called me from work. He's a careful driver, but yrs ago had a hydroplane accident, he was fine but all the same you worry. Snow still, bummer, hope it's your last & we can move this Spring along! Now I'm thinkin bout making mojitos.......
TOUCHE ..... on finding the Toucan brooch
Thanx for the sweet & funny comment Rose, bringing me a morning smile! I was actually pretty lucky to get this Lisner, I saw it on another collector only site, then someone finally was selling it
