    This is a souvenir of a railroad disaster in 1900. But I have no idea what function the piece served. Any ideas? Appears to be a wrench of some kind. Thanks for your help!

      I'm thinking its a 'reverser lever' for a locomotive -- in other words, a "train key"...? (the thing the engineer holds onto while running the train, that is...)
