This glass head from Japan came with a Kamei sticker, which probably dates it to no later than 1990.
I have never seen anything from Japan like it before.
It's made from a teal green glass, blown into a two piece mould. The walls of the glass are only about 1cm thick, and there is a very noticeable mould join line around the head. It has been given a satin finish, and unusually it appears to have been acid etched, not sand blasted, which is the usual Japanese method.
It's not the best made piece of glass with that obvious seam, and that seems so weird to me, as usually Japanese glass is extremely well finished.
Despite that, my lady has her own beauty and grace.

Cool item - I'd put a light in it :+) Since it is life-size, I wonder if this was maybe a commercial display item for wigs or hats.

Hey thanks Thomas! You think she suits the Big Audio Dynamite green lady song? :)

That would look pretty cool Harry, good idea.
I don't know if it was for hats et al. The stickers and swing tags that came with it were pretty OTT for a retail mannequin.
I have absolutely NO idea who would have made it.
