the globe which came with this was a very beat up replacement one, so i just removed it. I put in this one which i painted gold for the time being. i'm hoping that i already have the right size globe somewhere in my warehouse. The chrome had been covered in a really crummy gold paint, which had been badly damaged but it came right off w/ some fine steel wool and i like it better now. The sticker on the bottom is very hard to read, but says something like 'this globe is not to be used for navigation...'
I am not familiar with this one. I have a newer model which was made in England and expensive. This may be from the 70's.
Very cool. Looks like 1930s meets 1950s and I really have no clue about the exact age.
